School Profile |
Feng Chia University (FCU) has strengthened its global focus by establishing academic cooperative relationship with over 190 overseas universities, including 60 well-known universities in Mainland China. Each year, while a substantive number of opportunities arise for FCU students and faculty to engage in short- or long-term academic or cultural exchanges with partners globally, at the same time overseas scholars and students in turn have opportunities of nurturing international awareness on FCU campus. Currently, over 1,500 international students are studying on FCU campus.
FCU takes approximately 20,000 enrolled undergraduate and graduate students annually in its Nine colleges, namely Business, Finance, Construction and Development, Engineering, Information and Electrical Engineering, Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, International Technology and Management, and School of Management Development. All of the 17 engineering programs were the first ones accredited by the IEET, equivalent to ABET, in Taiwan. Furthermore, business related programs have gained AACSB accreditation since 2014.
To be ready for the growing trend of international education, the International MBA Program was launched in 2007 to recruit students with two years of work experience, and later English bachelor’s programs—International Business Administration (BIBA) —was established. In addition to taking English-taught courses. Master’s and doctoral programs on the following fields are conducted in English and also available for international students: anaerobic fermentation for bio-hydrogen production, business, electro-acoustics, e-texcare, environmental and spatial information science, green energy science and technology, information technology, management of technology, materials science, and mechanical and aeronautical engineering.
As approaching the 54th anniversary, Feng Chia has earned the status of being one of the most promising universities in Taiwan. In the recently released 2013 Inaugural Times Higher Education Asian University Rankings, FCU is listed among the top 100 universities in Asia. This honor, together with last year’s top 100 universities in the “Times Higher Education 100 under 50,” demonstrates that FCU’s educational quality and academic performance have gained international recognition. In QS World University Rankings by Subject 2013, FCU featured in one of the 30 subjects, ranked 101-150 in the field of Accounting & Finance. FCU clearly has stepped forward towards international cooperation in higher education in order to face the new era of globalization.
Other than the above highlights, FCU was among the top three recipients of the highly competitive Teaching and Learning Grants from the Ministry of Education (MOE) for nine consecutive years, which endorsed and further strengthened the quality of our education. The MOE has designated FCU as the Central Hub of Teaching and Learning Resource Center since 2007. Moreover, FCU is the only comprehensive university that receives 100% passing rate in the evaluation of higher education departments by MOE during the period from 2007 to 2016. |
